I haven’t been this excited about a plugin in a LONG time!

WordPress Visual Editor Plugin

I’m excited because this plugin (and the themes developed by Thrive) show that more attention is being paid to conversions and how your site works for your business as opposed to just the way your site looks (and of course it’s always been important to make sure your site loads fast and the code is clean).

Lately I’ve been paying much more attention to my ‘numbers’.  numbers

And by numbers I’m not referring to my income (although my income is a result of paying attention to my other numbers). The numbers I’m referring to are my leads, conversions, sales, cost per click (Facebook advertising), cost per lead, etc. NOTHING I ever anticipated caring about… but without knowing these numbers you end up spinning your wheels, not to mention you’re trying to grow your business with blinders on.

Which brings me to the Visual Content Builder by Thrive Themes.

The Visual Content Builder makes it easy to add different elements to your posts and pages that have a direct impace on the numbers you should be paying attention to in your business (even if you’re just getting started… pay attention to your numbers!).

I came across this over the weekend when I checking a few things on Facebook and fell in love the second I came across the power of this plugin. I’ve recorded a video for you so you can see the what this plugin does and why it’s so brilliant (and can help you increase the important numbers in your business… leads and sales). Here are a few things you can do with the Visual Content Builder:

  • Buttons
  • HTML
  • Columns
  • Grids
  • Testimonials
  • Guarantee Box
  • Google Map
  • Tabbed Content
  • Styled bullet lists
  • … and so much more!

Of course you can do all of this in WordPress without this plugin (shortcodes or html), but it’s not as easy (and certainlythrive-content-builder not as easy to edit).

Besides loving how easy this is to use, I did run into a few glitches here and there so I thought I’d share them with you before you get into the video.

A few snags…

The first snag I ran into is that it looks like you can drag and drop elements when you hover over the different options (this will make sense when you view the video). I don’t think anything is broken, I just think they’ve used the wrong cursor style, but I would LOVE for this to be a drag-n-drop. It would also be great if you could drag different elements on the actual page (much like you can in the Optimize Press editor). So keep that in mind when you’re styling your page (I’ll have to play around with it some more to see if you can insert an item in between two elements on the page, I’m thinking you can).

The other issue was that when I was testing the plugin in this site I went to edit the text in a paragraph and the options to change the font size or create a heading tag opened above the editor box but it went off the page so I couldn’t actually access each of my options.

When using the plugin in Firefox I noticed I was having issues entering my links for buttons or calls to action (I didn’t follow up and test after I had Camtasia off, but I do have my plugins disabled in Firefox so that may be causing the issue too).

All that being said…

They do have support forums and it looks like they’re pretty active in the forums (I always try to dig through a forum first to see if I can find the answer to an issue).

I’m excited to see what else the team at Thrive Themes has planned and what additional features they’ll be adding to the plugin as it grows.
