Anyone who knows me at all knows what a geek I am about the ‘visual’ stuff! Unfortunately, I’m probably a little narrow minded when it comes to websites and the way they look. If they don’t look good – I bounce! That and if I’m accosted by an auto play of a video or audio I tend to exit, stage left! (Think Snagglepuss from the Hanna Barbera cartoons!).
SO… needless to say I was totally geeked when I decided to try adding Google Fonts to a site today- and it was SO ridiculously easy! And the best part is that it was without a plugin! As much as I love plugins and am somewhat of a plugin junkie, I do know the value in running with as few plugins as possible.
I had played with a couple of WordPress Google Font plugins, but knew that there was a way to integrate Google Fonts with Genesis as there was a post over on the StudioPress blog (I think they mentioned in the post about the recent update to Genesis 1.7 that there was going to be more integration with Google Fonts in 1.8).
So after giving it a go, I thought I would do a quick video for you (it really is pretty quick- less than 7 minutes, which for me is pretty good!). Enjoy the video and then give it a try- it really is SUPER easy! The link to the Google Fonts page is linked within the post and through the button below the video. The code you want to add to your stylesheet is also below the video!
