OMG! I am SO ridiculously excited about this! You’ll understand why in a minute when I give you a sneak peek into what Webinar Engine is and what I’ve been doing for the last month.
You all know how much I love plugins…
Love talking about them, teaching how to use them, playing with them… the works! (In fact, I’m thinking about selling a t-shirt that says “Is there a plugin for that?” )
What makes me COOKOO (yes, I know that should be spelled cuckoo, but if you’re been reading what I write for any length of time you’ll know I like to make up words, so this is just a twist) is when things don’t work, there’s no documentation (ie, training!), support, etc.
Now, I’m not talking about FREE plugins.
I get it. They’re free- and hopefully you’re donating to the developers (just think what a difference it would make if everyone who used the plugin donated a dollar or two? Let’s keep those developers HAPPY!).
I’m talking about PAID plugins.
AKA, Premium Plugins.
The plugins we spend our cold, hard cash on!
Now, I promise I’m not going to go into a rant or anything, because the truth is there is NO way to make sure a premium plugin works with every theme and every other plugin on the market. I get that.
All I want is step by step instructions on setting up the plugin, configuring it, etc. PDF or Video. Whatever works. Not that everyone takes the time to read instructions or view tutorials (that usually happens after I’ve installed it and can’t figure it out, but I always check forums or FAQ’s or documentation first!). It is SUCH a huge disappointment when there isn’t documentation or training.
What’s my point?
Drumroll please…….
Announcing…
Holy Moly!
Yep… a new site, a new business (ties in nicely with “The WordPress Chick”, don’t you think?) and some AWESOME new products!
The first, as you may well guess, is Webinar Engine!
So, what is Webinar Engine?![Webinar Engine Webinar Engine]()
Well, obviously it has to do with Webinars… BUT… there’s a little twist.
There were literally only TWO plugins available that allowed you to set up a webinar page on your site where people could register for a webinar AND be added to your mailing list. Well… Webinar Engine does that. BUT… we’ve added another friggin’ AWESOME feature…
It links with PayPal too! HALLELUJAH!
SO… if you want to offer a paid class right out of the gate and you don’t want to make people click more than one button- Webinar Engine does it ALL! Yep! Oh… and you can still offer free webinars and have the visitor added to your email list, so don’t worry about that.
Here’s how ridiculously awesome this plugin is (and this is just the first version! We have SO much planned for this!).
First: It currently works with Aweber, MailChimp, Constant Contact and 1Shopping Cart! Infusionsoft is being worked on as I type this. WOO HOO!
Webinar Engine also comes with some FAN-FRIGGIN-TASTIC looking templates (as well as some very clean templates and the default template is nice and simple). Once you create your settings, it’s as simple as creating a WordPress Post (Webinar Engine uses custom post types). We’ll be adding more templates and features of course, but wanted to get this out as soon as possible so we’ve had to STOP adding things and get down to getting this out to you! WOO HOO!
Here’s a sneak peak video of Webinar Engine in action!
UPDATE: Looks like the Infusionsoft integration will be ready for release next week!
