So I was doing my normal WordPress search online the other day and came across Wordcamp 2009. I’ve read about Wordcamp before and thought of attending last year (not sure why I didn’t), so when I saw an ad for Wordcamp 2009 I clicked on it right away. It took me to the page for Wordcamp Chicago- and I thought, “hmm…maybe…”. The tickets are not expensive (I think SF is around $20) and I saw that Brian Gardner was going to be one of the speakers. Then of course I remembered that Wordcamp is not just a one time event and is in multiple locations. So I just Googled ‘Wordcamp 2009′.
As it turns out, Wordcamp will be in San Francisco on May 30th.WOO HOO! I was born in the city and have been in the Bay Area my whole life, so this of course is perfect! I talked with a friend yesterday whose site is also done with WordPress and she’d like to get into it a little more, so I think we’re going together. Today I submitted the form to volunteer at the event, with one rather ‘obvious’ question – and that was if I volunteered, did I still get to see the entire event? I don’t want to be stuck at a booth or registration table and not get to hear all the great speakers.
I haven’t heard back from anyone yet, but either way, I’m going. And I’m TOTALLY looking forward to it! I’ll keep you posted with updates and who is going to be there as it gets closer (and wheter or not I’ll be an attendee or a volunteer! :-)).
